Bryce Erickson and Bob Pitzel explore the rural setting with intense precision and stunning detail. Both artists are located in central Saskatchewan; Bob Pitzel in Humboldt and Bryce Erickson in Watrous. 

Erickson works in oils and interprets memories through the golden ratio. From his artist statement: “Nominally a realist painter, I make no attempt to faithfully record what I see and remember. I am not a camera with a paint brush for output. Rather, I take my visual data apart and re-assemble them using long-established geometric constructs and conventions. Such processes and tools provide a rational, demonstrable certainty to the dispersal of pictoral elements of a painting.”

Pitzel uses watercolor to examine his prairie home, from his website: “His use of detail, color and light; with patterns of geometric verses organic shapes, articulate the monumental prairie landscape. Within this fabric of rural life, Bob’s keen observation of daily life and small town nuances often refresh memories of the subtle things people generally overlook.” This exhibition provides a study in rural Saskatchewan that is immersive and contemplative.
