The Museum and Gallery offer programming for the general public, including: community, senior, and youth groups; English Language learners and those with special needs; and/or, interested individuals. These tours require at least one business day's notice to ensure that a guide is available.
Available Programs
Walking Tour of Historic Downtown Humboldt – This self-guided tour begins at the Museum and covers the historic buildings in the downtown core. Stop in to the Museum to pick up a leaflet that will guide you around downtown. Thanks to the Downtown BID, these buildings also have interpretive panels with additional information mounted in front of them. Keep your eyes open for the Urban Lukan murals around the downtown area!
Summer Scavenger Hunt - Come in to the Museum and search through the three floors to answer questions for the chance to win a prize sponsored by the Friends of the Museum! Ask at the front desk for more details.
Full Museum or Gallery Tour – Our Cultural Programmers will guide tour groups through the three floors of exhibits in the Museum or the current temporary exhibition on display at the Gallery. Some of the exhibits included in this tour are: the Telegraph Station, Mr. Sutherland’s Law Office, Bruser’s Store, Stebbing’s Barber Shop and much more. Throughout the tour, interesting facts and explanations of artifacts and artwork will be provided.

Old Fashioned Games
Seniors Groups / Travel Groups – The Museum offers semi-guided tours to Seniors groups and various travel groups who are visiting the area. Tour lengths vary.
The Museum also offers different kinds of ourtreach programs for groups who are unable to visit us in-person because of accessibility issues. Upon request, outreach programs can be requested for all age groups and tailored to specific needs.
Museum in a Suitcase – This reminiscing program offers a glimpse into Humboldts' recent history. The Cultural Programmer will bring a selection of artifacts that facilitate hands-on discovery of long lost memories through multi-sensory stimulation. Each program lasts about an hour and includes artifacts to evoke memories or special sentiments.
