A Tribute to the Performing Arts in Humboldt
Location: Humboldt and District Gallery
Performing arts have always been important to Humboldt and this exhibit is a way to celebrate the past theatrical performances. Humboldt has made theatre a priority for the lives of its residents. In 1912 City Hall included a space specially designed to present theatrical and musical performances. Although known as the ballroom, many performances took place in this room. The Sutherland theatre was then built to accomodate a growing need for a larger theatre and ran for many years. Now as we reflect on the past theatrical successes in Humboldt, we look forward to the completion of a new theatre to be built within then next few years.
